Maybe it’s the anxiety that keeps coming back no matter what you try. The depression that lifts for a while and then returns. The physical symptoms that nobody has been able to fully explain. The reaction you see happening in real time and still can’t stop. The exhaustion that has nothing to do with how much you slept.
Or maybe it’s something harder to name — a sense of running in place. Of understanding yourself completely and still finding yourself in the same place, again.
This blog is for all of that.
Why We Named It Black and B.L.U.E.
Black and blue. The places that are tender. The places we’re currently running up against. The anxiety that woke you up this morning. The dynamic at work or at home that keeps playing out the same way. The thing that’s happening right now that you can’t seem to get traction on. The health issues that have no explanation. You get the picture.
We named this blog Black and B.L.U.E. because that’s honest. And because understanding those places — really understanding what’s actually happening beneath the surface — is where the off ramp appears.
Not the off ramp that requires more effort or more insight or another thing to try. A different kind of understanding entirely. One that starts in the body rather than the mind.
Who We Are
Susan Blue is a clinical somatic practitioner with decades of experience in craniosacral therapy, somatic processing, and trauma resolution. She has sat with thousands of people carrying what couldn’t be reached by conventional approaches — and developed a clinical precision for meeting the nervous system exactly where it is.
Dee Kinsey is a somatic and Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner/educator, and the co-creator of The B.L.U.E. Method™. What brought Dee to this work wasn’t study — it was experience. Sitting with Susan and feeling something move that decades of understanding had never touched.
Together we built The B.L.U.E. Method™ — a somatic processing framework that takes you underneath the thinking mind and into the nervous system, where your responses actually live and where real change becomes possible.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog exists to do two things.
The first is education. Real content about how the nervous system actually works — what anxiety is doing in the body, why you can’t stop a reaction even when you see it coming, what exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix is actually about, why understanding something doesn’t always change it. Plain language. No wellness clichés. No insider terminology without explanation.
The second is something less common in this space: honesty about the places we’re personally moving through. Because this isn’t something we observe from the outside. We’re in it too. The nervous system doesn’t exempt practitioners. What we’ve found is that sharing our own process — what we’re currently sitting with, what we’re learning, what’s moving and what isn’t — is often more useful than any clinical explanation.
You’ll find a new post every two weeks. Each one built around a single idea, grounded in the body, written for the person who has already tried the other things.
Where to Start
If you’re new to this work, the best place to start is with our free quiz — 8 Signs Your Nervous System Is Running the Show. It takes two minutes and gives you something specific: a picture of what your nervous system has been doing beneath the surface of everything, and where to go from there.
If you’re ready to go deeper, the foundational course series is open. Each course builds on the last — giving you real tools, real understanding, and a framework that works with your nervous system rather than against it.
And if you just want to read — stay. There’s no pressure here. This blog will meet you wherever you are.
Welcome to the Black and B.L.U.E. Blog.
We’re glad you found it.
